Gorean, Educator, Researcher & Trainer:

John Railing aka Malkinius

John aka Malkinius as he is usually known on the internet, started reading the Gor novels in the early 1970's shortly after starting college. He stopped in the early 1980's when he could no longer find them and put them on the shelf until he found people interested in Gor on the internet in 1999.

After reading a number of Gorean based web sites, he installed an IRC client and started talking to others interested in the books and for many of them, role playing as Gorean. Since, unlike most, he had read over half of the books several times and he had been role playing since D&D was first released, he dove right in....and found out about two weeks later there were people who were living what he and others had only fantasized about. It was more than just slaves, it was living according to the ethical philosophies the author had written into the books. He went down that path changed his life.

More than a decade later he is one of the better known Goreans both on and offline and has traveled from coast to coast promoting offline Gorean meetings and communities. He has also become something of an expert in the training of slaves in the Gorean style as well as a consistent presence and teacher about becoming Gorean. He hosts the the longest continuously running offline public Gorean gathering. The House Malkinius bi-annual meeting will hold gathering number nineteen this November and number twenty probably next April.

Past activities and interests include a BS in Radio & TV, work in both desktop publishing and magazine publishing, manufacturing and sales of gaming miniatures and adventure games including owning a game store, wargaming from miniatures to board and role playing games, a licensed auctioneer in Indiana, a member of the SCA in the Midrealm starting just before the SCA's 10th anniversary, a member of Science Fiction Fandom and convention creator and con chair for five years and more years working on SF conventions and finally working with computers and interactive networks since before the internet.

Current activities still include writing and teaching about being Gorean, running the ChicagoGor monthly meetings, promoting Gorean offline meetings and interactions and researching and writing about Consensual Enslavement and sometimes practicing it as well. He lives in the Chicago area and has two live-in slaves, chrystal and fawn.
