Big Bad Jim

Jim is a Poly Leather Top that prides himself on giving back to the community. Having been an active member of the Edmonton community since 2000; Jim has always been there to lend a hand whenever needed.
Jim is the type of person that when he sees a need for something, he makes it happen. He is one of the founding members of COPE; an Edmonton group that puts together a monthly play party and educational events. Jim created and produced Primal Pain; an outdoor weekend spiritual retreat, Jim saw the need for an event that brought people together for something more than just kink. Jim was also the Chair of Lupercalia for several years.
Jim identifies as a sadist. Like any sadist he derives pleasure from inflicting pain. Whether he is using “Boris” his trusty sidekick, or as the painfully talented “Dixie Normous”. With a black hankie in his back left pocket there is no question he loves what he does.
Jim has always had a passion for sharing his knowledge and wisdom with those in and out of the lifestyle. Others have commented on his classes as “fun” as well as “intense” learning experiences. Jim has spoken at the University of Alberta sharing our lifestyle with their students. Jim has presented workshops at Southwest Leather Conference, Beat Me in St. Louis, Portland Kinkfest, Leather Reign, Spanksgiving, Mr. Leatherman Toronto, Madtown Kinkfest, Twisted in Tulsa, Folsom Fringe, Winter Wickedness, Sagacity, Kinky Karnival, Beyond Closed Doors, Westcoast Bound,, and twice Jim has been named the People’s Favorite Presenter at Northern Exposure in Anchorage, Alaska

Classes

Caning; Turning Red to Green

Saturday, March 8th: 1:30 pm to 2:45 am Classroom D

So many bottoms yell out red at the mere mention of canes.  I know one sub that claims an allergy to wood.  Canes can produce a wide variety of sensations depending on size, material and how they are used.  In this class Jim will bring his collection of canes, crops and sticks and welcomes you to do the same.  You will learn not only the care and use of canes but also how to prepare the bottom for a caning scene.  Hopefully by the end of this workshop we will turn some reds into greens.

How to Beat the Crap out of Someone and have them Come Back for More

Saturday, March 8th: 10:30 am to 11:45 am Dungeon Left

So you’ve learned how to punch and kick.  In martial arts and other combative sports the purpose is to make your opponent believe that an injury in inevitable.  In the dungeon we want to hurt, not harm our partner.  Takedowns, Resisting, Rape Fantasies, Wrestling, and good old fashion body on body beatings can all happen without the need for a toy bag.  It is important to prepare yourself for each scene. In this workshop Jim will show you how to have a very powerful, bonding scene.  Starting with preparation straight thru to the very important aftercare you will learn how to keep them coming back for more.

Leather in the 21st Century

Sunday, March 9th: 10:00 am to 11:15 am Classroom D

What is this Leather lifestyle I keep googling? Is it some secret society? Is it that pompous ass that goes on and on about how everyone else is beneath him? Or maybe it’s the kinky gays? Our world is changing in the 21st century and Leather/BDSM/Kink is changing with it. In our time together I want to dispell some of the myths about the Leather lifestyle, discuss the differences between kinky and Leather and talk about your experiences and mine.
